Jerry Howard is the Virginia manager for the non-profit association Alliance for Affordable Services and Chesapeake Health Solutions. Jerry lives in Mechanicsville with his wife Sonia and their two children Essence and James. Jerry is a native and is glad to be part of his community again.
Jerry graduated from Highland Springs High School and spent four years at Virginia Tech; studying physics for two years and then mathematics for his last two years. Jerry then worked for two years in the Blacksburg area and enlisted in the Marine Corps soon after the 9-11 terrorist attacks.
While serving in the Marines as an electronics instructor, Jerry obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. He then went on to graduate school to complete his M.B.A. in marketing from National University in San Diego. After serving 5 years in the Marines, Jerry ended his active duty career at the rank of Sergeant.
Jerry obtained a position as field representative for the Alliance for Affordable Services soon after leaving active duty. He was quickly promoted to become the Richmond district manager and then Virginia manager early in 2008. In addition to training new field representatives, Jerry works with small business owners and self-employed individuals and families to help them gain access to quality group health insurance.
Through the use of the association and its benefits, Jerry is able to show small business owners and self-employed individuals how to save time, money and how to gain peace of mind when it comes to providing benefits to themselves and their employees.
Jerry’s hobbies and interests include: spending time with family, reading both fiction and non-fiction literature, networking with other small business owners throughout the community, and riding his motorcycle.
